Overview

The most famous trek route in the world and the once in a lifetime experience for stunning beauty of the nature and the magnificent close-up views of the 1st highest Mount Everest (8848m), Lhotse stands at 8516m, making it the fourth highest mountain in the world. Similarly Nuptse, Mt. Pumori, Lobuche, Kangteka, Ice Land peak, Thamserku, Amadablam, Twache, Khumbutse, Lingtren, Kongde Ri, are the main snow mountain attractions of this region. These mountains lead through Sherpa villages, forests of fir and rhododendron and across high suspension bridges, and the exciting trek to the Lukla begins with a 31 minutes mountain flight to the Lukla from Kathmandu.

Strenuous trek of the 2nd day leads you to colorful, bustling market of the Namche bazaar with traders from surrounding villages and as far as Tibet, and our ultimate destination Tengboche offers you the sensational views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and Ama Dablam. Climbing above the tree line to cross alpine pastures and glacial moraine you eventually reach Base Camp, high on the Khumbu Glacier. The highlight of this trek includes the 360 degree vista of awe-inspiring mountains. The personal sense of achievement that many experience at the end of their trek is the unforgettable memory. Spending additional day in Tengboche, we retrace our route and fly back to Kathmandu.

According to legendary history of Kirat, there were 16 Kirat brothers called Shorha Khambu, they ruled over this land and used to bring their sheep for grazing and hunting deers around the Khumbu valley before the Sherpa came from Riu Kharta valley of Tibet. Thus, the word Khumbu was changed from Shorha Khambu to Solukhumbu. It has been 300 years since Sherpa people came from Tibet to this place and habited in this valley. Before knowing the Mt. Everest or Nepali Name Sagarmatha, Mt. Everest had local name given by Kirant and Sherpa called ''Chomolungma'' Baburam Acharya (1888–1971) was a Nepalese historian and literary scholar who coined the name Sagarmatha for the mountain better known as Mount Everest or Chomolungma. It was 1841 when an obscure peak in the Himalayas was recognized as the tallest mountain in the world by a British survey team led by Sir George Everest, and whom Mount Everest was named after in 1865. Today, climbers from across the world attempt to scale its mighty face.
