Overview

Khopra trek is in the trail of Annapurna Himalayan region that has been developed to suit trekkers demand to find the new destination in the Annapurna area. This trek offers a breathtaking magnificent view. It is newly promoted peaceful and beautiful trekking trail with amalgamation between culture of Gurung and Magar Indigenous Peoples and stunning views of the Himalayas including Mt. Dhaulagiri and Annapurna. The Khayar Lake follows the quite trails away from the popular and busy routes passing through the traditional villages, lush forest. We will enjoy the view of great Annapurna Himalayan range, meanwhile, sacred Khayar Lake (4500m/14763ft) as well as the best Sunrise from the Ghorepani Poon Hill 3210m/10531ft. The Khayar Lake is important for the peoples of Shamanism, Animism and Hindu follower to pray of the nature energy.

As we walk higher through the rhododendron woodland and the view of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and Machhapuchhare are amazing along with the breathtaking view of snowcapped peaks. We leave habitation behind and walk through forests till we finally emerge above the tree line at Kopra an incredible mountain. We will enjoy the views of the Annapurna mountain from Khobra hill, its offers Khun Khane Festival (Yak blood drinking) which is really popular.

Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrive in Kathmandu (1334m/4376ft)


Your arrival is at one of the Himalayan kingdom and small country with natural beauty in Nepal's Trivuban international airport (TIA). Our company representative will pick you up with warmly welcome to you at airport with Nepalese custom way then transfer to you at Hotel.


Day 2 : Kathmandu to Pokhara (820m/2690ft): fly 25 minute


After your morning breakfast, our staff will drop you to the airport further steps for your flight to Pokhara. Pokhara is the second largest city of Nepal. It is located at western region on the lap of Annapurna Himalaya range. The flight will take 25 minutes, then land to the Pokhara airport. You will be transferred to your hotel by tourist bus. After short rest, your guide will take to you for tour in Pokhara. Overnight at Pokhara.


Day 3 : Pokhara drive to Phedi, Trek to Tolka (1850m/6069ft): 6 hrs


After your breakfast in the morning, we have a short drive to Phedi. From Phedi, trekking begins upward to the Dhampus through village, jungle and farmland with some glimpse of Annapurna South, Fishtail and Himchuli. We pass over hill through Pitam Deaurali and gentle descent to Tolka village towards western side of slope hill full of Gurung village. Overnight at Tolka.


Day 4 :  Tolka to Ghandruk (2012m/6601ft): 6 hrs


Our trekking will begin after breakfast to the Landruk with gentle flat trail at this place. Landruk is the way to the Annapurna base camp. Some people trek through lower way to the base camp. We descend from Landruk to Modi river. The river flows from Annapurna Base camp and its glaciers. There is small bridge to cross it, possibly we stop for lunch. And climb to uphill until Ghandruk. Overnight at Ghandruk


Day 5 : Ghandruk to Tadapani (2610m/8562ft): 3 hrs


Ghandruk is a big village and get way to the Annapurna region, with full of Gurung People and their lifestyle. We explore around village area and traditional Gurung museum. These people have typical house architecture that still remained on their mother land. After exploring this village we head to the Tadapani through village. We ascend up to Bhaisikharka with gorgeous views of green forest with Annapurna south, Fishtail and Himchuli peaks. We hike one more hour through very tall and dense Rhododendrons forest to Tadapani. Overnight at Tadapani.


Day 6 : Tadapani to Dobato (3350m/10990ft): 7 hrs


Tadapnai is small settlement for trekkers with limited teahouses and lodges. We can see beautiful closest views of three mountains with sunrise. It is surmounted by dense forest of Rhododendrons. We walk through jungle. The trail leads us upon down the slop part of mountain. We reach at Bhaisekhara for lunch then we walk to Dobato. Overview at Dobato


Day 7 : Dobato to Dandakharka (3000m/9842ft): 5 hrs


Locally Dobato is called Baisi Kharka where the Gurung people used to bring water buffalos to graze this place during 15th to 19th centaury around this pasture land. In this way this place calls Baisi Kharka. Early morning we hike to Muduli View point excellent view of Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, Annapurna and Machhapuchhre. Then we walk toward Dandakharka via Byalikhara. The trail leads us over the hill till lunch spot we will view Dhaulagiri in the west. Having lunch we will descend towards slope uphill at the top ridge of Dandakharka. Overnight at Dandakharka.


Day 8 : Dandakharka to Khopra (4020m/13188ft): 3 hrs


After our breakfast we start walking up to the Khopra, The trail leads us to peaceful and quiet atmosphere through bushes of rhododendron and oak forest with open gorge landscape full meadow of hill ridge. There are only two lodges available which are run by community based and provides internet with telephone facilities. This community lodge concept has been designed by Mr. Mahabir Pun who is honored by MEGASESE warded person of Nepal. We reach at Khopra. Overnight at Khopra.


Day 9 : Khopra to hike Khayar Baraha Lake (4660m/15288ft): 7-8 hrs


Having a good breakfast, we take our packed lunch and leave to Khayar Baraha lake. It is a pilgrimage destination and worshiped by Animism, Shamanism and Hindu pilgrimage people. According to the hearsay, sacred khayar is the adobe of goddess Khair Barahi. The trail mostly gradually ascends but gets very steep during the last hour before reaching the Lake after exploring such a sacred lake back to Khopra. Overnight at Khopra.


Day 10 : Khopra to Swata (2270m/7,217ft): 5 hrs


We gradually descend to the lower hill through bushes of rhododendron and oak forest with observing some of the western Himalayan ranges of Dhaulagiri with open peaceful slope hills. The view looks like gorgeous valley we reach at Swata one of the Indigenous Peoples of Magars are living in this place which is recognized by Nepal government. Overnight at Swata.


Day 11-13 : Swata to Ghorepani (2860m/9383ft): 6 hrs


From Swata we trek down to Small River through jungle and cross the river slowly we ascent toward Phalate one of the Pun Magar community are residing along this valley. We continue walking up to Chitre Deaurali till Ghorepani through rhododendron and mixed forest birch, oak, Maple and Pine along with chirping of various birds. Overnight at Ghorepani.


Day 14 : Ghorepani to hike to Poon Hill (3,210m / 10,497 ft) and Tikhedhunga (1577m/5173ft): 5hrs


Today, we hike very early to Poon Hill and it will take 45 minutes to reach at top. You will get excellent views of Dhaulagiri (8167m). Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna South(7219m), Machhapuchhre (Fishtail)(6993m), Himchuli(6441m), Niligiri(6670m), Barahasikhar(), Tukche peak, Tibet border Himalaya ranges along with many more mountains and green dense forests. Having amazing views we gradually descend via Nangethanti, Banthanti, Ulleri and Thikhedhunga the village of Magar peoples till Hile. Overnight at Hile.


Day 15 : Hile to Nayapul (1070m/3510ft), drive to Pokhara: 6hrs


After having early breakfast we walk down to the Nayapul via Sudame, Dangsing, Birethanti where Annapurna conservation office is located, we will proceed official documents and papers for check out along with TIMS(Trekkers' Information Management System ), and walk about 45 minutes to get Nayapul and drive to Pokhara. Overnight at Pokhara.


Day 16 : Drive to Kathmandu (1334m/4376ft)


After wonderful experience of Khopra trek, we drive to Kathmandu with some glimpse of Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh himalaya rage via Tanahu, Damauli Muglin and Kurintar along with wide valley of lush terrain fields. The high way has Trishuli river which is famous white water rafting sport of Nepal. It takes 5hrs to reach at Kathmandu. Overnight at Kathmandu.


Day 17 : Departure to your lovely home


We head to airport approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight. Our journey and services in Nepal ends from today for this trip, Visit Nepal Treks and Expedition Pvt.Ltd representative will drop you to Airport for your best memorable of glance of Himalayan.
