Overview

Pisang Peak Climbing takes you high to its summit above 6.091m/19,983 ft high, facing marvelous scenery of beautiful Manang valley and its dramatic landscapes with towering peaks of Chulus, Annapurna with Damodar and Manaslu range towards east. Pisang Peak Climbing area, located high above Manang valley on top of Pisang village within Nepal Mid-West Himalaya where walk leads you on famous and popular Annapurna Circuit trekking route. Adventure to Pisang Peak Climbing takes you to warmer low areas of Lamjung district at headquarter town of Beshisahar, an interesting place to observe Nepalese way of traditional farm life. Walk begins after a drive towards mid hills within cooler alpine zone at Manang areas in Dharapani, where our trek starts heading past Chame - a nice large town and the district headquarter of Manang areas. As journey continues towards our main goal and highlight on Pisang Peak Climbing, we walk uphill into serene woodland of rhododendron and pines trees to reach at Pisang village lined with Buddhist prayer walls and spinning wheels.

Pisang village is located at high Manang valley overlooking grand views of Annapurna II-IV with Chulu peaks towards north and majestic looking Pisang Peak above the village. Adventure leads high away from main trail of Annapurna circuit to reach within sheer wilderness of pristine nature of mountains and high hills at Pisang Peak base camp. With ample time for practice and exercise including acclimatization days before Pisang Peak Climbing, where grade is taken from French and Swiss Alpine Climbing Classification as PD + means ‘Per Difficule’ that’s the walk and climb on rocky moraine and ice with glaciated path, a straight-forward climb but with high technical skill required in some sections of the climb to its high summit top, where our highly professional climbing guides lead you on top, safe and sound.

At the top you will be stunned with fantastic views of unique and magnificent panorama of surrounding terrain and high peaks that encircles you at the summit of Pisang Peak. After feeling high on top of the world the return journey takes the same route to Pisang village, where interesting overland drive takes you back at warmer low region of Lamjung at Beshisahar town and then the drive continues to Kathmandu or Pokhara, with wonderful experience and adventure on top Pisang Peak Climbing. Alternatively, you can enjoy our climbing package i.e Chulu East Peak or Chulu West peak Climbing.

Itinerary

Day 1 : Drive from Kathmandu to Chyamche (1430m/4,601ft) :9 hrs.


We drive from Kathmandu taking an interesting drive to reach at Chemje of Lamjung district. We pass via Dhading, Kurintar along the famous white water rafting sport Trishuli River having sweet dream of Pisang peak climbing. Suddenly we join with Marsyangdi River after passing through narrow road. The drive leads us to a wide valley to Besishasar, where mixed community of Gurung, Magar, Bahun and Kshitri habitat. We stop for lunch at Besishasar then. The road leads past Bulbule village, following Marysangdi River with climb to nice village at Jagat, after a refreshing stop drive on gradual winding trail towards Chamje, [Overnight at Chemje] 

Day 2 : Drive from Chemje to Dharapani (1,860m / 6,102ft): 5 hrs.


The Chyamche is located at narrow valley of Marsyangdi river, where driving towards high hills to reach at Manang areas in Dharapani. This road leads into forested area, with super views of Annapurna and Manaslu mountain range. Journey continues pass Tal village to reach Dharapani village - a nice village with much Buddhism culture which you will witness from here onward. [Overnight at Dharapani]

Day 3 : Dharapani to Chame (2,670m/8759ft) :5 hrs


We walk along winding path into rhododendron, pine forest through Bagachap and Danque village, then ascend to Timang village. From here onwards into Buddhist culture area with view of Mt. Manaslu (8,163m / 26,781ft). From Timang village few hours trek leads to Koto and then to Chame head of Manang, which is situated in the narrow valley nearby Marsyangdi with center hub for all supplements city. Day 4 : Trek Dharapani to Upper Pisang (3,300m /10,826 ft) :5 hrs.


We trek continuously into cooler area from here onwards closer to mountainous region, and rain shadow open landscape trekking through nice alpine forests of rhododendron and pine trees, following Marsyangdi River upstream with short up and down hills to Bhratang village. From Bhratang village, walk follows uphill through alpine woodland overlooking Chulu’s and Pisang peak. We break at Dukuri Pokhari for lunch and walk descends to lower Pisang village and then a short up to reach higher village of Pisang. This place offers fabulous views of Chulus with Pisang Peak including Annapurna II-III and IV with Gangapurna Himal. [Overnight at Upper Pisang] 

Day 5 : Trek from Upper Pisang to Pisang Base Camp (4,380m/14,370ft) :5hrs


After a nice overnight in Upper Pisang village, our route leads further north above Pisang village, as tree lines drops for short bushes within yak grazing land, called Kharka. Climbing over high ridge to reach at Pisang peak base camp, where our guide and staff will set up the base camp with camping equipments at 4,380m/14370ft high, first night in tent meals prepared by our experienced cook and kitchen staff. Day 6 : Climb to High Camp (5,400m/17,716ft) and Practice day.


A short day but tough due to high altitude, morning walk follows faint trail. Few climbers and Yak herders hardly use this path to high camp, as the walk leads over rocks, ice and glacier to reach bottom of Pisang Peak where high camp is set for the climb. In the afternoon, our guide will scout the area for safe accessible route to the summit fixing ropes and making ice ledges where necessary. High camp is situated on long ridge of Pisang Peak. Under some conditions, this area may be under snow. In the afternoon, we sort the gear with preparation for the early morning climb with some training for the summit bid next early morning. [Overnight at High Camp]

Day 7 : Extra day, If feeling fine climb on the same day to the summit.


Today is an extra necessary day for proper preparation and acclimatization for final ascent to the summit of Pisang peak and this day allows our guide to check the best available routes to reach the top of the lofty and dome shaped Pisang Peak. [Overnight at High Camp].

Day 8 : to Pisang Peak (Jong-Ri) 6,091m/19,983ft back to Pisang Village.


Our highlight and goal of the adventure is starting early before dawn, climbing over moraine and rubble of ice falls, following lead guide reaching high above on a well defined ridge towards last snow slope. As climb progresses quite steeply without much difficulty where some technical skills are required in few sections, where climb leads you all the way to the top of Pisang summit with great support of our expert guide. On the summit top we take refreshing break and then enjoy beautiful panorama of whole Annapurna Mountains, with Chulu range with Damodar peaks towards north that includes view of Manaslu Mountain in the east horizon. After being on top and highest spot at 6,091m/19,983ft high, descend is made on the same route to base camp, as time permits and possible with physical strength after the climb descend all the way to Pisang village. Day 9 : Drive to Besisahar (750m/2460ft) :6hrs.


From Pisang village an exciting and scenic drive towards low warm areas of paddy fields and villages following Marysangdi River downstream to reach at interesting town at Besisahar. [Overnight at Besisahar]

Day 10 : Drive to Kathmandu (1300m/4265ft) :5 hrs.


We enjoy marvelous time and adventure on Pisang Peak Climbing in the morning and drive back to Kathmandu on the same interesting highway with few refreshing stops on route Kathmandu. If we do not head to Kathmandu, we have options to drive: Pokhara which is a much shorter journey of few hours with its calm Phewa Lake where most of the good hotels and resorts are located. Day 11 : Departure to Home


We head to airport approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight. Our journey and services in Nepal ends from today for this trip, Visit Nepal Treks and Expedition Pvt. Ltd representative will drop you to Airport for your best memorable of glance of Himalayan. Meanwhile, if you have some negative experiences that knowingly and unknowingly, we request to you remove it from your mind before leaving Nepal and carry beautiful memories with hope of your good life and prosperity with hope that you have plenty of time to plan your next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal.
